I’m thrilled to share that I’ve recently been awarded an artist commission with LEVEL Centre in Derbyshire. LEVEL Centre is such an inspiring place, dedicated to celebrating difference through creativity, and I feel honoured to have the chance to contribute my work to their environment.
This commission has given me the opportunity to push my contemporary glass art practice in exciting new directions. I’ve already started making, experimenting with ideas that connect to LEVEL’s ethos of inclusivity and innovation, and I can’t wait to see the final piece installed.
For me, the making process is just as important as the finished artwork. I’ve been cutting, layering, and shaping glass to reflect themes of movement, light, and connection — ideas that feel very much at home in the inclusive arts environment of LEVEL Centre.
It’s been wonderful to have the time and space to immerse myself in this project. There have been moments of challenge, where I’ve had to re-think my designs, but those shifts have sparked new possibilities.
