Description
“Between Coral” is one of my Table Top sculptures series. Made in Autumn 2024. Each unique piece is influenced by the things I see, my surroundings, the photos I take while travelling, or just out and about, which I bring back to the studio to interpret into a fused glass form.
Layers of hand cut vibrant pink, turquoise and vibrant pink gold dichroic glass come together, inspired by the movement and colours of the fabulous fish I saw while snorkelling in the Maldives. You may see aspects that remind you of a stormy sky, or oil on water. As long as the piece catches your eye, the shimmer and sparkle draw you in for a closer look at the details I’m happy. A key theme running through my arts practise is exploring ways for us to slow down, encouraging us all to take a closer look at our surroundings, to appreciate the little things in life.
Size: Approximately 20cm tall. The glass disc is approx 15cm in diameter, and sits into a hand turned and finished wooden block, also made in Derbyshire.
The sculpture will be posted in two parts, in a bespoke box, on arrival, simple slot the glass disc into the wooden base and enjoy!
Want to discuss commissioning me to make a bespoke piece in another colourway, size, shape or mount/display type? You are welcome to get in touch.
